If a Democrat judges you by appearance and concludes that you're a Democrat, it probably means you look smart.

If a Republican judges you by appearance and concludes that you're a Democrat, it probably means you look like you're creative.

So, no matter who this guy is, I think it's a good thing.

Helen, you are so incredibly cool. You are what I wish I'd been like in high school. (speaking of which: you're almost done! kinda.)

but yeah. the guy's a neocon. The thing is that I absolutely love him anyway. Academia is full of amazing people who just happen to be insanely conservative. He doesn't really talk about his political views in class, which I guess is a good thing. I just hope he's not judging me for being ideologically opposed to everything he stands for. I hope you're right and he thinks I'm creative.
