Ya know, it's funny; A couple of years ago, a pit bull attacked my mom and my dog while they were taking a walk (twice) and we had to file a "dangerous animal" report and they had to put the dog down.

But I agree with you because I've met some really nice pitbulls, too. This particular one was being bred to be vicious.

Scout has taught me that there are no such thing as bad dogs, just bad owners. How could people be this rotten/dumb?

What about Dingoes? I think they're supposed to be basically evil, gobbling babies and whatnot. I would get one if I had a larger place, or children.

Only you would get a baby-eating dog upon having a child to try to train it to be a ninja bad-ass. Actually the only truly rotten dogs are Bichon Frises.

You know, I looked under FindLaw, and all I find is that there is a bill to allow Breed Specific Laws to be passed by municipalities, but no law to require or even allow extermination of any breed. So I went to No Kill Now, the obvious source for activists on this issue, and I find from them about the current version of the bill:

The latest version allows cities and counties to enact breed specific mandates that pertain only to spay/neuter and breeding requirements. Cities that implement such restrictions would be required to compile quarterly reports on dog bites and submit them to the State Veterinarian. Here's the actual text of the bill: http://www.aroundthecapitol.com/billtrack/text.html?file=sb_861_bill_20050705_amended_asm.html... )
