I needed a pick me up and the sure thing for me is clicking the 'happy smiley people' tag at 'Sex is not the enemy'. My all time favorite picture within that tag is this one (G? PG? PG-13? There are naked breasts).

Which reminds me that I love body hair on women. Arm pit hair, crotch, legs. I like to see women, not 12 year old girls. ( A bit of personal TMI )

personal, tmi

Yes, me too. I shave some bits because it can make the skin more sensitive in interesting ways, but I'm not a fan of unnatural baldness. Plus, stubble and shaving rash, ugh.!

Not to mention ingrowing hairs! No matter what method I've tried my skin always suffers and besides that it's uncomfortable, it's not exactly looking all lady-like and charming to have red bumps in sensitive places so it kind of defeats the purpose.

Ooh, thank you so much for posting that link! I think it's a pick-me-up for me, too. :)

Hahah! I always have the feeling that when I find something interesting I'm probably the last to know, but there's always someone for whom it's new. Works the other way around too; I've often found new and interesting/fun stuff through people who started by saying 'you've probably all already seen this but...'

Yes! This one made me very happy yesterday:

I don't have any kids to embarrass, so I haven't shaved or waxed legs or pits in 20 years. I'll do a little armpit and pubic trim with scissors for neatness, but I'm not a fan of a bare mons, either! Ick.

Funny, but true, story: A friend of mine, lifelong Arizonan, was at a local party, dressed for the occasion. A man approached her and started talking to her, and was shocked. He was sure she was French, because she was unshaved, yet so stylish. She explained, not French, lesbian. :D

God yes! That picture is gorgeous!

I don't know where the French got that name, because as far as I can tell they're shaving and waxing as enthusiastic as anywhere in the surrounding countries. o_0

The party event was actually around 15 years ago. It seems like women worldwide in the past 20 or so years have bought more and more into the American must-be-shaved "ideal." Ugh!

One of the reasons I stopped was because the belief was so pervasive. I had a friend 25 years ago who had severe back problems and had to have surgery. As soon as she was recovered enough to be bedridden at home rather than at the hospital, she had someone come and wax her legs. She was actually shuddering as she said, "I felt like a beast." If the "beauty" myth can make you hate your body that much, there's something very, very wrong with women believing they have to conform to it. Men get the option to shave, so we should, too.
