Not random at all, it's why I added the title & author in the first place. I doubt if it's translated though, so it would be in Dutch.

And it's a very depressing story. Just so you know.

Oke, bedankt voor de waarschuwing. :)
(um, ja. misschien moet ik wat duidelijker zijn de volgend keer. :/)

Oh! So Dutch isn't a problem for you I see :D

Het kan zijn dat het verhaal er een uit een bundel is. Het is maar een kort verhaal, maar als je onder Anna Blaman zoekt, moet het te vinden zijn.

Oh, you were quite clear in you first comment, but it's never a problem to add something in an extra comment of course :)

Now if there's a person who can describe adolescent angst in a gripping way it's Stephen King (and he's also awfully good at describing tender male feelings, tender sex and all kinds of things that are often dealt with in a 'tough' way) And yes, in some movies and fics it's pictured quite clear we don't need aliens to have nastiness in our society.

Anna Blaman has written several stories that concern young boys and angst. I have never given the male crotch much thought, but I know that I cringe when I see that scene in the Faculty. It is so utterly cruel. Kneecapping is IMO a last resort measure when men get pushy, but I have done it when it was needed.

It's the only story I've ever read by her. Maybe I should change that.

And of course kneecapping can be used in defense against male aggression, but I wanted to focus on the non-aggressive aspect of the male crotch in this entry :)

Wow, you must have an amazing mother!

Is it this book maybe? Unfortunately it seems to be out of print... http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/0805734414

I think it could be that one, I'm not sure though... The filmed version was titled 'to play or to die' in English, but they could have translated this differently of course. The original book is from 1974, so it could be that one.

Yeah, my mum never checked if a book or film was considered right for my age in general, but if it was right for me at that point. She was always so spot on that it never occured to me that some books/films may not be considered appropriate by others.

Interesting timing. My three-year-old got her dad right in the balls yesterday, it hurt a lot for a couple of minutes. I forget how vulnerable guys are.

Yeah, three year olds are good at that; they're clumsy, no scruples and the right hight I guess...

I never forget how vulnerable guys are there, it's part of what attracts me I'm afraid.

I just started writing something here that I deleted again immediately. Lets just say it involved the words 'male parts', 'loose fitting jeans', 'soft' and 'sweet'. It started getting rather embarassing really *blushing*.
