I think the word you want for all original, older "tomtar" is elf or elves in plural. Elves can be mischievous creatures but they can also be helpful around the house. Our Santa is helped by many small elves. Of course your modern Tomte is now more like Santa. It sounds like you had a very good day despite there being no snow. :)
Do you have any special Christmas Day customs?
A happy and peaceful Christmas to you, my dear friend!
It sounds like a wonderful Christmas for you and your family! Those large external drives are wonderful. I have one which I use for back up. Like you have, I think another one would be good for my photos just to save room inside this computer.
I just realized where my brother got his nickname for their daughter when she was a baby. They called her Tomte - or "Tompy", meaning she was a little elf! That nickname stuck until she was in kindergarten and the teacher refused to use it. I don't know why and how he found that nickname! Now this daughter is over 30 years old! *g*
My husband has some Swedish ancestors on his mother's side of the family. I have shown him some of your posts. He is familiar with many of your customs there and has enjoyed seeing what you write and post in pictures.
