Like the other Marvel films, its best to turn off one’s brain when going to see this movie. (otherwise you’ll be wondering how someone seemingly not on active duty, could be running around with equipment that probably cost as much as a helicopter ( Read more... )

Actually, they explained in the movie itself that Sam did not have access to his flight pack. As he said, they don't let you take experimental gear like that home.

When he said this, Natasha answered that picking it up would not be a problem, aka they broke into whatever facility had said gear and stole it....

I loved that they mentioned Project Paperclip which I first learned about when it was mentioned on The X-Files.

I didn't get the impression that ALL of Project Paperclip in the MCU were Hydra or that ALL of Hydra were picked for Project Paperclip. I assumed there would also be Nazis who didn't join Hydra before then or random other scientists.

Unfortunately, most viewers would assume this to be a fictional operation which is sad. I don't think any of my textbooks in high school even covered it.

I loved the film but you do bring up a number of points that I'll have to think about. I think it's also different in viewing CA:TWS alone, CA:TWS with M: AOS or M:AOS alone. To me, M:AOS is able go into so much more detail about everything going on.
