To see that someone takes lessons in German just for the fun of it makes me absurdly happy :D And don't fear the irregular verbs. Or cases. Or reflexive verbs. It's not as hard as it looks.
OMG. That's awesome that you are taking a class. I suck at languages and it's sad because I've always wanted to learn Italian. But man, I'm just awful. Languages don't make sense to me. Quantum mechanics I get. Regular verbs and articles? Not so much.
I took German in high school and pretty much only remember how to count to ten, say hello, ask for a beer, please and thank you, and of course "shit." LOL. I hope you continue! I think it would be a good journey!!! :)
this is probably the first class I've taken (language-learning--wise), where asking about the bathroom wasn't one of the sentences we learned to form. :)

figured it was my best chance at understanding agglutination-and-how-to-build-really-long-words-i-can-pronounce. (no offense to Inupiak)
my teacher wrote this on the board to help us - a shortcut: EST.1010
E . ST . T. EN. T . EN
...as the word endings for person and gender.
