which line is better?

There was a fork in the road. The sign for one of the roads read:
‘THE LONG (way/road).
‘Warning: Sidewalk Ends.’

ouat, writing, once upon a time fanfiction

Well... I think I'd change the first part so it went...

There was a fork in the road. The sign for one of the paths read:

And then I would probably use road after "The long" because I haven't ever seen a long way sign...

It does make me wonder if you want some kind of... "Last services for 59 miles" type sign or something as well.

thank you.

(there'd be no need for service, as there's nothing more advanced than carriages in the world of OUAT)

well, I'm using several sources:

-Frost's poem about a road diverging.
-the book title 'Where the sidewalk ends'.
-the phrase "taking the long way (around)".
-the Troll Bridge (which is the other option)

also, nice to hear from you. I hope all is well.

You're welcome.

I love Where the Sidewalk Ends.

Maybe one way says Long Way, XX amount of distance in OUAT terms... (I don't know as I only saw a bit of the pilot) and the other one says "Sidewalk Ends."

Thanks. I've been around, a bit, but not much, and usually occupied with original fiction... Haven't done any fan things in a while, but mostly things are... good.

I'd go with "Warning: Sidewalk Ends."
