Rachel was actually a good friend to him, taking his defense at teh beginning of the episode, asking him what's he's turning into... When he killed her I was so shocked. And upset.
What is he turning into, indeed... His methods are worrying me, A LOT :S

was it just me, or did it seem that, when he told Bobby what happened, Cas seemed to be rationalizing it as "the only reason she would have doubted me, is if Rafael had corrupted her" ?
(Cas is becoming Zach...well, a Winchester-friendly Zachariah)

He was lying. Rachel tried to kill him because she had found out his little "dirty secret" and because of 'what he's turning into'... After what Fate said about Cas and the souls, I'm pretty sure she wasn't lying. She was just trying to stop him because HE had betrayed their cause.
And YES, he's like the new Zach.

when the civil war in Heaven started (and possibly as recently as the "moses stick" episode), the Cause just seemed to be "stop Rafael and anyone else who wants Apocalypse" and nothing more than that.

strange as it may sound, I'm glad its possible to betray their cause - because it means they actually have one. (unless Castiel's loyalists all think he has one, when he doesn't really)

did that make sense?
