is anyone else getting the feeling that TJ is in danger of abusing her position? how many other times will she use the baby (however casually mentioning it) to get what she wants from Col. Young?
I did see a few comments about this.
While watching, I thought that Young/TJ exchange was kind of funny and kind of real. Thinking more about it - yeah, it is manipulative, and it speaks to TJ's anger at being pregnant due to involvement with a guy who went running back to his wife; and keeping her pregnancy a secret for months; and her fear for the future. More broadly, it's how the powerless deal with the powerful, when their agendas and needs are different.
Whether watching a whiney-needy-TJ is going to be enjoyable - probably not! And I hope that that's not going to be her only function on the show going forward.
I was rather glad that someone, other than his wife that is, found Rush attractive and worth romantic interest. And I'm only sorry that him and Mandy were like ships crossing in the night (and may possibly stay that way) but at least he got some comfort from someone who truly understood
( ... )
I mean I can see how the hosts in the SGC/earth side - being all military and having volunteered - know the complete score and know their body IS shore leave to the stranded people which means to have sex, drinking, eat fatty foods, and other habits along side the communication with family.
The ones stranded however wouldn't expect their bodies to be used, especially a civilian like Camille.
Ah that's right IOA isn't military, its a government run civilian organization right? I'd really love to know what guidelines and rules of conduct they issued in regards to the host exchange.
oh it gets better! ;) all we know of the IOA is that it is an international body that oversees the Stargates of Earth, and includes representatives from the USA, Russia, France, Great Britain, and China. (seriously, after all this time, that's all we know - it might not be very civilian, given the membership)
> I'd really love to know what guidelines and rules of conduct they issued in regards to the host exchange. that'd please me too. but I'd be happy just to know what they tell people to get them to swap bodies.
"You know how the Azgard beams teleport you to somewhere else?" "Yes sir." "This is like that, except its not."
>Sooo many ways this could go wrong. agreed. in spades.
