Yep, I found this in my lj archives...
Give me the title of a story I've never written, and feedback telling me what you liked best about it, and I will tell you any of: the first sentence, the last sentence, the thing that made me want to write it, the biggest problem I had while writing it, why it almost never got posted, the scene that hit the

Hmm... Now a title... Titles have been such an issue lately (and I'm currently procrastinating, could you tell? :P)
Um... It was... *looks at bookshelf*
Time and Trouble.
My favorite part was definitely the Crews/Reese interaction. :)

It was almost the title: What Would Buddha Do?
Why this fic almost didn't get written: First, trying to find a reason for Charlie's and Dani's dads to be in the same room - and then, trying to keep Reese Sr from killing Crews Sr.
Part that I took the most evil amusement in: Near the end, when Charlie's wondering if the whole point of the Conspiracy was to make sure Charlie and Dani would be partners.
Part that ended on the cutting room floor: Dani's mom handing Crews Sr. his head on a platter, figuratively speaking {aka tearing him a new one}. I kept mentions of it in the story, though - such as Charlie seeing his dad hitting on Dani's mom right before the platter, and Crews Sr later telling Reese Sr "you're a brave man, married to her."
What prompted me to write this story: I wanted to explore what Dani's mum is like, after we've only heard bits and piece about her.
My personal canon in Life: Dani's father returned to his family once the Conspirators weren't gunning for him. (he'd left so they wouldn' ( ... )

The entertaining part: Colby and Kimball are both the quiet, focused, dedicated, and reserved ones on their respective teams, rarely saying more than they have to - so it was fun to make them work together.
That said, Nikki wasn't the only one who was surprised when Cho won the "who could defeat who?"
When I finished writing, this was the part that I couldn't believe I had written: When the four of them had to go undercover as part of a gang scouting out LA. I think Colby's eyes were about to fall out when he came back from getting groceries & he found Cho helping zip up the back zippers on Callie's and Amita's outfits. (no idea why I had only Amita and Colby in leather - oh yeah, because Cho said No, and because it didn't come in Callie's size - she said so)
The part I'm surprised more people didn't yell at me for: The hints of intimacy between Lisbon and Charlie. I figured she'd be used to eccentric genius by now (as you rightly pointed out), but Charlie would be a breath of fresh air, in that he's not plotting or making ( ... )

I'm completely in love with this for two reasons:
(1) Callie's covertly watching Colby and Kimball put on all the kevlar and velcro and wires and such. Um. YES PLEASE. Where do I sign up to get a front row seat for this?
(2) I opened with Colby about to surprise propose to Callie, interupted when Cho called her to give a heads-up on team cooperation...and Colby finally got to propose on the final page of the story. *happy contented gushy girly sigh* Yeah. That's all I can say about that.
