God bless the region-free DVD player. I have one myself, mainly because there are series I can get in the UK format that will probably never see the light of day here in the US. It was definitely worth it. I got it from Amazon.com and it really wasn't that bad price wise.

It's an ITV series, of course. It looks to me as if the "second series" of episodes is designed to make the whole up into a thirteen episode "series) (6+7) which would make it easier to air on some markets, so this time next year I expect them to have sold it to someone that side of the pond.

However, I'd buy the multiregion player. I know I wouldn't be without mine.

Did you get a multiregion player then? :)

sadly, no.
I keep getting one of two answers:
1) there are no such things as Regions, and any DVD player will play any DVD.
2) we don't have any DVD players for anything outside our Region.
(I've gotten both answers at every spot I've checked; gah!)

thanks for asking, PY, I appreciate it.

Hmm. I could in theory buy a really cheap multi-region player for you but I gues I'd be up against a) the post and customs, b) wrong plug and c) it'd need NTSC support too... Not impossible though for me to find one, I could look into it if you'd like.

The other thing you could do is find and note down the models at stores and then search for region unlocks on the net. I think our dvd player fdidn't come unlocked but it was an easy code pressed on the remote after searching for it that made that possible. I'm happy to help tryin to find the unlock codes for models if you want help with that once you have some to look for from models you might get.
