Yuletide progress report

My Yuletide work is thusly at present:

Got back from a few hours at the library, having located just where Sitka is and its borders. (but not even Frommers Guides had Verbover Island)Borrowed the Yiddish book I've looked at the least (not counting "Yiddish with Dick and Jane"), and got a dozen notes and OC character concepts

So, writing for Yiddish Policemen's Union, then? :)

It's been a few years since I've used Yiddish, and it wasn't very good to start with, but let me know if you need a person to bounce something off of linguistically. (I've read Yiddish with Dick and Jane, though, and as I recall it's a pretty good guidebook. Another good resource is Leo Roston's Joys of Yiddish, which has bonus funny.)

I keep wanting to learn Yiddish...but I never make the time. (bad me)

I think they had Roston's book. I've been using Wexler, though. ("just say Nu")

I'm sorely tempted to put in
"How's a Jew?"
"I'll let you know when I find a real one." (instead of "How should I be?")
...but I won't.
