"C'mon," Liz said. "Spill."
"Spill what?" Nikki asked as the three women sat outside for lunch.
"Your date with the delectable Agent Granger," Alice said.
"Oh, that."
"Underwhelming?" Liz asked.
"No, there were fireworks," Nikki said.
"Off the Bay Bridge," Alice said. "I was there."
"Oh yeah, speaking of which, how was your date with David?"
"I'll answer your question when you answer mine."
Damn, I'm not getting out of this. "How 'bout we get Liz to go first?"
"What happened with me and Charlie," Liz said, "is not for discussion."
"So something happened," Alice deduced.
"Or she's covering for the fact that nothing happened," Nikki offered.
"How does this sound?" Liz asked. "On the count of three, we all answer together."
Nikki and Alice nodded that it was okay with them.
