Thoughts on Episode 8: Lapa'au

This episode was filled with moments that I loved! Back to that offbeat combination of ridiculousness and crime story. And so many great lines!!

What could they possibly consider ridiculous, you ask? )

Hi again.

Steve definitely looked concerned about Danny's reaction to the movie. I've rewatched that scene a few more times now and it gets better every time I watch it.

I haven't seen the movie either but feel like I want to now.

Oh, and I think I want to ship Danny and the dog.

I loved this episode.

That opening is on my list of "favorite scenes ever"! I really hope the dog comes back. Thank so much!

Me too! I'm waiting for someone to make icons from it.

Now Danny's given the dog to Gracie I'm hoping for some cool Danny/Gracie/dog bonding sessions! I wonder if the dog's gonna have a name soon. I don't like just calling him the dog.

Perhaps I will make some icons this weekend! I love playing with pictures and icons.

I've been calling him Doggy, but yeah, he needs a name. Danny would probably name him "Stevie" or "SuperSEAL" just for the fun of it!

In the H50 ep with the dog...

I've seen Enemy Mine a bunch, when it's been on cable. I think it was an inspired choice for that scene in the ep.

As far as the black boxes in planes being orange... I'm kind of an aviation junkie, as it were. I think--but I'm not positive--that the airplane black boxes (flight recorders) actually started out black. But the color was changed to something brighter & easier to be seen among an airplane wreckage--in this case a bright orange--because a totally black box might (& probably did, in the past) get "lost", if you will, among airplane wreckage that's been blackened by pre/post-crash fire. Those things need to be found, if at all possible, so they can hopefully help determine the cause of an airplane crash, & it's a lot easier to find them among a burnt-out airplane fuselage if they're a different, brighter, color than the burnt-out fuselage.

That does make total sense. That bright orange would show up even if it got some soot or smoke damage. Thanks for the commnent!
