We did a table read of the rewrite I've done 4 times in yesterday's class.

The entire class- about 70 people (Or 1/4 of the school) was there to witness my name on a super pipe-y 7 page script about strippers.

It was painful.  But the two jokes I snuck in got laughs.  I'd be happier about this if it wasn't so painful to hear the rest of the script.  ( Read more... )

Yeah! If I can just make it through the next few months, I'm golden! (Well, except I'm not sure how good my chances are in the job market right now... but we'll see, lol!) How much longer do you have?

I hope you find something quickly when you graduate. I bet you will. :)

I graduate in December. I don't think I could do it one month longer than that. I'm burned out.

Script Supervisor skills are so incredibly valuable. Not only are people constantly in need of a good Supe for their projects, but breaking down a script and tracking how it gets filmed/covered will teach you a lot about how to craft your own material so it IS more "director-proof".

But really, no script is completely director-proof. There was that time I worked on a movie where the director barely even acknowledged the script, because he was too busy shooting Native American dancing and lens flares out in the desert. And that was on a feature film.
