OK, I know I am gonna sound completely entitled, but how reliable is the author, for finishing the story, I mean. I got burnt by a great story, that hasn't updated since 2008, still bitter about it.

Hi, the author here. I understand your concern-there's just so much unfinished fic out there! It makes WIPs a sad affair for all of us who write them, because we spend ages on them having a very small audience to cheer us along, on account on everyone else staying away, waiting for the fic to be completed.

For what it is worth, when I started the story I promised that I'd update every week. Twenty-one weeks later I have kept that promise. I took a break only once when I skipped just one week, but I made sure I mentioned it in adavnce. I should probably mention that once or twice I have also posted two chapters in one week. I have a very clear idea where I'm taking the story, I've already invested 100K and countless hours in plotting it, writing it and polishing it, so unless something pretty serious happens to me that spins my life and inner workings out of control, I will finish it, and 'in schedule' too. There are about ten chapters left to write, I think. (I can't say with absolute certainty, because it's such a long story, and ( ... )

I really love the sound of this one - do you think you will end up with a PDF version eventually? (I like to read longer fics on my kindle).

Very glad it got you interested:) Many thanks again to de_nugis for the rec!

I'm not sure how to convert to a PDF version, really. But what I do know is that some readers are actually downloading the chapters to their kindles, so I guess there's an option to do that on AO3. Here is the link, if that helps: Of Ghosts and Men on AO3.

Hey, I've just been reading this! It's lovely! I really like her Sam headspace.

Me too. It's a pretty low key Sam, but with a great range of Sams: scary guy Sam, friendly guy Sam, self-aware Sam, blind spots the size of the Chrysler building Sam, isolated Sam, Sam who reaches out to people, and all the contradictions work together pretty well. And relatively happy Sam, despite the background Dean angst, which is nice to see.
