Reccer's notes: This author has written some epic and famous Sam/Dean, but I think this bleak little 5.10 coda may be my favorite fic of hers. It's easy to write the wincest angst as grand drama, but this understated domestic tragedy version has a painful authenticity, in which the assurance that Sam and Dean are each other's future is almost but not quite exactly unlike hope. Killer last line.
