Reccer's notes: Although this is fairly dependent on the slice of canon it's set in - early season four - there's something sharp about this take on what Jimmy feels as a vessel. Often stories focus on his love for his family, this take focuses on the relationship between a soul and its body, and explores the implications of an eternally healing body and the loss of routine small tasks. Short and not so sweet, the details contained in it rang true and horrifying, and Castiel's occasional dialogue with Jimmy was spot on as well.
[Short excerpt]Castiel doesn't grasp the concept of food. Castiel doesn't understand hunger; he deals with the sensation by ignoring it, enforcing a sheer unfamiliarity between himself and starvation that does not allow for fraternization. Because hunger is nothing Castiel had to worry about, he doesn't.
