Reccer's notes: Kevin has been such a great addition to the Supernatural cast and, in this fic badbastion does a great job filling him out as a character with more than just a nervous desperate need to meet his obligations and move on with his life. In "Break" Kevin is nervous and a little desperate, but he's also really sexy and sensual, which -- aside from being Hot! -- adds to him as a person, gives us more of his motivations. By the end of this, I felt the pull of his desire to be more than a prophet, his desire to have something for himself, too. As a bonus, his appreciation of Sam is one I sympathized with. Falling in love with Sam's brain--we've all been there.
[Short excerpt]Kevin closed his eyes and felt it, nearly in love with the shapes of the words and the way the rhythm sank into his bones. He swayed slightly, remembering the feel of the cello between his knees, the deep resonance that shivered through him, the feel of thick strings under his fingertips, the way time melted away into pitch and depth and rhythm, Kevin rocking on a calm sea. Sam did this to him now, deep voice rocking him, and Kevin yearned for the tactile sensations. Wanted to feel Sam between his legs, wanted Sam’s hair in his hands.
