FOTS Daily Post

For Merlin Day, I thought about putting up the photo in my "Pissed" Icon (seeing as that's probably how I'm going to feel after I watch the show...) but then I decided that no, The FOTS page should be used for good, not evil... *silly grin*

I can't decide whether or not I'm looking forward to the next episode or not... I'm sure it'll be good but ultimately disappointing is what I'm thinking at the moment.
so pissed of is good in anticipation....(*sigh, what a picture, I want to dream of that tonight!!!)

For the most part, I have stayed away from spoilers (I look at the quote ones sometimes...) because I don't want to be disappointed in advance. Also, I found that it helped me to enjoy the individual scenes from the whole if I didn't think too hard about plot or advancing story line. I just go, "Oh, look at the pretty Colin!" or "Oh, look at the pretty acting in that scene".

I pretty much plan on removing Series 5 from my headcanon as soon as its over (No, damn you.... the Golden Age of Camelot, you TPTB ninnies!).

Well, I've only read a preview and seen the trailer, but even without seeing them I think it's probably going to be disappointing (well hasn't the whole season?)
I've found you have to take and episode individually, if you start thinking about overall characterisation and arcs then ...what the hell am saying?? its ridiculous, you have to think about the previous seasons, and the characters as a whole, the whole series five doesn't make any sense!!!
If I say it once I'll say it a million time TPTB are morons!

TPTB are morons!

Yes. This. A million times this. Don't worry, we'll just sit here in a circle and enjoy the stick!

As far as Merlin goes, I am numb. I have zero expectations for each new episode. If something good happens (ex-Dolma) then it's like party! bonus! But otherwise? Meh. I'm just in it for Colin at this point.

The Merlin fandom owns my heart and the show has become peripheral to the fandom experience at this point. It's gotten so bad I am willing to divorce it from my fannish experience almost entirely.

Now, that said:

FUCK!! Colin looks gorgeous in today's pic! I love him in the 3/4 profile. You get all the advantages of the FACE while still highlighting that ludicrously gorgeous profile and no other pose makes the man's cheekbones SO obvious!! His cheekbones are a thing of wonder and magic.

When the series is over, I'll go back to my books; the PROPER merlin legends, not some idiotic thoughts of a bunch of people who think the sun shines out their arses!

and cheekbones, those cheekbones - 'nough said!

I really liked this Merlin. Seriously, I love the idea of a hot young Merlin running around with a hot young Arthur...I just would have liked to have seen them do a better job with it!

There's no reason it could have worked (and it should have worked!) , he doesn't have to be old ALL the time - and young and hot is a definite YES, but sadly it ended up in the wrong hands!

I wanted to call this now, just in case I'm right:

IF there is going to be a magic reveal for Merlin in this series (before the very very end, that is), I feel it will be in this episode. That being said, I can't quite see how they would make that work.

But...It would make some sense, plot wise (I know, I know...don't use the word "plot" and TPTB in the same sentence...). This would bring about the alienation of Merlin from Camelot at a very crucial time. It would push Arthur toward being more like his father and less tolerant of magic, which I could see turning Mordred toward the dark side.

And because it makes sense and would further the plot...it won't happen!

sense, plot, (also continuity) and TPTB - somehow that doesn't go together...
but what you say makes sense, and Arthur is already like his father, no matter how much he (and TPTB protest otherwise) - he uses magic for his own gain, just like Uther did. At this point, I can't predict how it will end for our Merlin. In most of the legends he is gone before Camlann, in others he takes Arthur to Morgan in Avalon, but at this stage I can't see either of those scenarios happening. I have this horrible, sinking feeling either no magic reveal, or if so, its at the very very last, closing minutes, which will make every fan around the world howl in frustration!

There you go using logic and reason...

I know how they are going to turn Mordred...and it's STUPID!!

I want to say something spoilery right now but I'll refrain. You haven't been looking at the scans and teasers on CM and ONTD?

I've seen a couple and yes, I can see whats going to happen, and I know none of it is going to make much sense,
Its frustratingly stupid!!! (and have the producers been looking at their copy of story writing for dummies again???)

Yes, I know of the plot point of which you speak although I'm trying not to pay attention. My guess is closer to the Avalon ending for the series.

Ugh, that photo - so beautiful.

Have you ever noticed that Colin in profile - like in the photo where he's sitting against the tree in issy's profile in lower posts in this thread - he IS a Roman statue? Paint him white and you wouldn't be able to tell the difference.

Did any of you see the Merlin Advent video of Colin & Bradley? I was kind of struck how much broader and more muscular Bradley is - and how much hotter he looks without his bad Arthur hair.

What IS with the bad hair on the show? Only Percival really had a flattering cut. Why did they give Mordred that horrible mop? I won't even get into the male clothing. Only Uther, and Arthur in the first 2 seasons actually had wardrobes. Arthur in that black outfit...
