Beautifying my page...

So....being the LJ newbie that I am, I have seriously NO idea how to make my page look pretty like so many of you have. Where do I even start? Would love any input or suggestions, because I'm sick of my page looking boring! :) Thanks!

I have no idea about how to make it prettier, really, but you can go select a different style. I'm not even sure where you do that, to be honest. I could poke around and see if I could figure it out.
