So a month or two back I really blundered the mission of getting Jack White tickets but thought maybe I could get lucky on Craigslist or Ticketmaster would throw some more on sale or whatever. None of that happened, but I still thought maybe we could go get some day-of tickets at the venue, which I don't think I've ever actually done for a big sold

Hey, the dinner call was on us! Pure bet-hedging: we both thought, well, if we don't get in AND we've just eaten dinner, there will be nothing fun to do except go home. I also should've just ditched my windbreaker at the office and changed into a hoodie. But, yes: WHOOOOOOOOO!

I agree that I would've packed my bag differently (or brought a way smaller bag) if I thought we had more than a 20% chance of getting in! Worth it!
