Marisa and Craig and I went to see Los Campesinos! again, this time at the Music Hall of Williamsburg. It occurred to me watching them tonight that for such an exuberant, enjoyable band, there's something a little businesslike about their shows. Dressed for casual friday? I didn't know that "punk rock" still had a uniform. God forbid that people who play aggressive, punk influenced music actually think about wearing something other than a leather jacket or having a mohawk.

Well, it wasn't bad, just kind of strange. Lord knows I like aggressive punk-influenced music and have never worn a leather jacket! But fair enough: that was kind of a superficial thing for me to point out. It would be more accurate to say: if they were the only opening band, I would've found them agreeable, but after the fun of Johnny Foreigner, the straight-ahead punk-influenced sound wasn't totally doing it for me. I wouldn't dread seeing Byrds again, though.
