So, here she was, kindly letting down a rather annoying stranger when he tried to compliment her choice of outfit, nursing a Captain and Coke when Zacharias made his way toward her.
She hadn't seen him since the night of the reception and Marlow was a little startled to see him, if not a little embarrassed, what with this being her fourth Captain and Coke of the night.
"Teachers have social lives- sometimes-" she said, taking another sip from her glass.

He leaned against the bar, resting most of his weight on his hip as he looked at her. Something seemed off, but he wasn't exactly an expert so he was waiting that out.
"It's good to see you."

She turned to face him, her elbow resting on the counter of the bar as she raised her eyebrows. She felt so tired, this day feeling so long and difficult. And now, she was here, drunker than usual and feeling insane amounts of cranky.
It was probably a bad idea to be in public.
"What brings you here?" she asked him. "Prowling around for some unsuspecting young women?"

"I'm mostly hanging out because home is boring and I don't have anywhere to be for at least a week." Catching his foot on the nearest stool, he tugged it closer to sit on it. "What brings you out? You don't look like you're in the mood."
