Gong problems

I have a problem with the Gong legacy. When I started the game today and entered the Gong household (the loading screen showed her and her sister, who is living with them), Vlora and her sister were gone! Siegfried, the dogs and the kids are there but just Vlora and her sister is gone. I tried to summon Vlora but the summoner doesn't locate her in

This sounds a lot like what was happening to my original Strangetown neighborhood. I had sims randomly disappearing and entire lots doing the same. I managed to find some of the sims using SimPE to teleport them to a lot (maybe try it from a lot that isn't their home?) and then move them in. It was a temporary fix, because others continued to go missing.

In the end, I decided to abandon my hood, because it seemed like it would only get worse. For me, it was best to cease playing and focus on trying to extract any sims that I didn't want to lose. Who knows what went wrong (I don't), but it seemed the whole thing was beyond repair. You could try posting this question to thesims2 community or a site with more technically saavy players, and see if anyone has any insight into the problem. It'll probably be more of an issue of preventing it from happening again at this point.

I tried summoning them on another lot and no dice.
I think I'll just get rid of this hood and make a new one, and ask around to revent this. Thanks :)
