Where you can find me more often ...

I have not given up in this forum, but I am spending most of my time in Facebook and to a lesser extent in Twitter. Many of you are in Facebook and some also in Twitter. Please feel free to check me out and friend/follow me in those forums. I'm under my real name in Facebook and under me1rockinbear in Twitter. I wish everyone a blessed 2010!

We're not giving up on LJ, we're just expanding our communication surface areas! :P

Exactly! I have 3X the number of friends in FB as here; and at least half I actually know in real life; something that wasn't the case here; at least in the beginning. I'm still playing around with Twitter. Susan has embraced Twitter and has over 500 followers, including many from the audiobook publishing industry.

Expansion is good.

I actually feel a little self-conscious expressing myself on facebook because of the more contacts and people I know in real life. A lot of my family and some acquaintances on facebook are politically, religiously, and generally different than I, so I could risk offending many of them. Even some of my subtle remarks have gotten puzzled replies, lol. I continue to use Livejournal almost exclusively to post my intimate details and opinions...

If it is any consolation, MOST of "my family and some acquaintances on facebook are politically, religiously, and generally different than I, so I could risk offending many of them" and it is a challenge. I know well over half of my FB friends in real life, and did before FB. In LJ, it was far different. I've met quite a few now, but knew few prior to LJ. I've found LJ a far better blogging tool than FB. FB does a better job with photos.

I had so many of my LJ friends move to FB as their primary social networking medium that I really felt I needed to spend more time there. Then, I was able to reconnect with scores of old friends that I'd lost most contact with other than on an occasional or random basis.

I've got to figure out how to balance the positives of using both mediums.

oh yeah, I remember that incident on FB with your brother, I think? He seemed upset about something you said, heh...

Actually, it was a nephew ...; and that sure hasn't been the only one. I put many within my own church fellowship on edge regularly. It is one of my services ...
