two tutorials

May 02, 2011 15:40

So, I was asked by muses_inc and xxsafixx if I could do tutorials for two icons from this batch and I comply. ;) First thing: I did most of those icons using a variation on this, so this might work on most caps from the episode. Second: I didn't have the psds saved (because I usually make things up as I go every time, which I shouldn't) so I tried to re-make them ( Read more... )

Man,that's also how I do.I play with the each cap so much cause tutorials can't give you the same result sometimes since each one has different settings.Especially the caps from this episode.Honestly,I found it difficult to colour them while preparing my random recap! Too much sepia but I want to reflect other tones..etc

Again,thanks=)

No problem, hopefully it's helpful! ;)

I just don't have patience for saving psds - most times if I use it with another cap from the same episode it won't work, so I just stick to the usual two/three things I do for each cap and see from there. And yeah this episode was tricky - I mostly went with watering the sepia down with the blue layer most of the time, but you need to see from cap to cap I guess. Anyway, you're welcome, no harship. ;)

I found this really useful, as it explained why you were doing things, and the effect that they would have: this means I stand a better chance of being able to apply them myself in my own fumblings, rather than carbon copying something that won't necessarily work as-is on a different base.

Thank you.

You're welcome! :D it's awesome to know you found it useful, and that it was clear. It's mostly that I've never learned anything from a tutorial that didn't explain you why you were doing something so I try to do the same. ;) also because I learned my way around the program by fiddling myself with tutorials and changing them along the way, so I'd say I totally like your method. ;)

Thank you so much!

I have PSP, but I don't think I have the one that you have so this might take a few moments/days/weeks/lifetime for me to figure out. Still, it's very helpful.
