Is Virgin Galactic really that cheap?

There's been a lot of hype recently about Virgin Galactic announcing they're going to start sub-orbital launches within 5 years. Apparently 175 people have already signed up, at $280,000 per ticket. So when can I go live on the Moon?

Possibly, before 2015 with the Russians, if you're lucky.

It wone be until some time after 2020 with NASA (link), if you believe their current plans.

Probably some time after 2030 with the Chinese (link) - but again, such long timetables are rarely (if ever) reliable.

There is currently no official timetable for ESA to build a lunar base, though I think there have been discussions in some circles.
