I did wonder - yes. Did you manage any other files? I've had so much trouble getting on LJ this week I haven't seen any late fills.

There's one other fill, which will be tidied up and posted later in the week. I did try to write some more, but then LJ fell over and knocked me out of the zone, and I never managed to get my writing head back on. :/

I really liked the Firefly-esque world of this (darker and meaner than that show ever got, but it really works here). Loved Jensen's defiance.

Heh, Jeff and Idris here are certainly a couple of levels meaner than Mal and Jayne, respectively... but I always thought the Firefly world was pretty dark and harsh in general. There are massacres and Reavers, and River being brain-fucked into becoming a WMD by the galactic authorities, after all.

(And I will not deny that I totally plagiarize Firefly every time I write sci-fi AU. And CJ Cherryh's Alliance 'verse. They're too rich not to be plundered, right?)

I thieve from Joss like a thieving thing that thieves, because it's fantastic and because I can. Makes me feel a touch piratical to be plagiarizing multiple 'verses at once! There's some of CJ Cherryh's Merchanter Alliance 'verse in there, too, and Idris is a connection to The Losers.
