Oh, and I was going to guess "1/1/1 revolutionary calendar" for the first, but of course not.

The revolutionary calendar just reorganised everything IIRC. But it could have happened that way! Then again, things at the time were a bit more messy than we might think of them now, I suppose, so I don't know if they would have picked Bastille Day as a start date in those days. *shrug* Yay, revolution :)

I'm genuinely surprised I don't get more response for quizzes like this though, because I always think I'm setting easy questions. What would be easy questions? I think I have a different easyometer to other people ;)

I spent one summer on the Swiss/French border. We got to celebrate *so* many festivals. Bastille day was quite a big one.
