I lost some purchased mp3's too - when I updated my iPod, some new files overwrote the old, and wiped out the entire folder. For example, the folder for Chicago Symphony that had a Mahler album in overwrote 3 other albums in an older folder, also entitled "Chicago Symphony". It didn't ask me, so it just happened. I had to repurchase some of my music, and some of it I imported I will have to try to find the CDs to. *grumble*
