Several of you who are regular readers of this journal have expressed interest in learning more about what it's like to be a genderqueer person--or as I like to call myself, a Hello Kitty Transformer. For those who aren't aware, being GQ is considered by many as a subset of being transgender*.

Even though I try to be open-minded and informed in both my professional and personal lives (always a therapist, dontcha know), I must admit that I didn't know much about transgender/gender queer folks/issues until I "met" you. I appreciate your continuing efforts to inform and educate and wish that more people would listen. But, if it helps, know that I do listen/read and am quicker to correct people when they spout off with stupidity then I ever was before (because now I have information as opposed to "that's not nice").

I just wish other people would read this post. Maybe it would make them think twice about what they say.

And feel free to unscreen. You know by now I don't care what people think of me as long as I feel that I'm standing on the side of justice and fairness.
