Last things first: that final line made it feel like someone dropped a cement block in my gut. It's still there. I may not be able to say much of anything else in this comment with boundaries souring the memory of the not-weird kiss in New York.
I've never cared for the "Pepperoni" moniker, but framing it as a gossip rag Brangela-esque name suddenly makes it far more palatable. The thing I love about your writing is how real and complete the world these characters live in feels. Magazines gossiping about them is part of that. Of course the magazines gossip. Of course Tony is aware.
An interesting thing that stood out to me is Pepper's rule of no sleep overs. She's implying that she expects Tony will want to sleep over sooner or later, which is quite different from his usual patterns of behavior. Can't wait to see where that goes. Or, for that matter, how long they will be able to easily follow any of the rules.
This is very possibly the first T/P fic I've commented onmustbethursday3March 1 2011, 06:28:02 UTC
I love the humor, the tone - playful but a little weary - I love how comfortable they are with each other and LOL your Tony is hilarious and it took me as long as Pepper to get the Pepperoni thing (I don't spend much time in the Ironman Fandom) XD
I haven't read much fic over the past few months but....I read the excerpt because the pictures you posted with it drew me in and well, here I am. I loved this so much. I can't wait to see where this goes.
