Today I was informed that Parsons had decided that my sketchbooks are "noteworthy”, whatever that means, and that they would like to add them to their permanent collection, to be put on display next to the likes of Marc Jacobs and some other schmucks. Apparently if I acquiesce their request they will even be paying me. I haven’t yet decided if they ( Read more... )

Depends on the price they offer. If it's something your satisfied with/can negotiate, then scan the drawings and give it to them.

Also, I think I've been seeing you around the city but since I'm not sure I don't say hi lol.

Ha well I live in the east village, and parsons is pretty close to SVA, so it's quite possible... If you see some idiot looking like this: http://www.flickr.com/photos/shock-value/3462120494/

than it's me. SAY HI!

I concur. Get some high quality scans of that stuff and then make some cash!

i think it depends on how important the sketchbooks are to you verses how much they are willing to pay. i had a dude offer me over $500 for a 18x24 drawing of a stippled rhinocerous.

i felt like a jerk and an idiot, but i just couldn't do it. i never draw and i'm super proud of it.

it's a hard decision. congrats on the offer and let us know what you decide!

Firstly, congratulations...you're an amazingly talented artist, and I think it's awesome that Parsons is recognizing that. You're a badass, dude!

I understand your dilemma, though. My sketchbooks suck majorly, but I'm still really connected with them. I have every sketchbook I've ever owned like...ever. I'm really attached to them.

At the same time, I think it would probably be worth it, because like...wow. What an honor!
