The point that YOU miss is that the guy with the secons gun did NOT even draw it. He's not the guy who stopped the shooter. The people who stopped the shooter were UNARMED, and they defended quite capably without resorting to more guns. In this case, it is true that nly the criminal used (or pulled) a gun.

A gun isn't necessar to defend only the desire and willingness to do so. Hell, even the terrorists don't need guns.
