MOST politicians are like small children. It doesn't matter what party they belong to. Case in point - Rick Perry and his call to secede. Mark Sanford and his hypocrisy of being publicly ro-family while privately dishonoring his wife. Neither side is innocent of your accusation.

It's not quite filibuster-proof, since Byrd and Kennedy don't vote much these days, and one of the independents (JL) doesn't vote with the Dems very consistently.

None the less, your caution is well advised.
