"I Can't Stop!"

Aug 12, 2007 01:02

Friday 8/10 I went to Nichole's apartment around 4:00 and then we picked Jessica up from work at Kohl's. We also met up with Pixie there and the four of us headed over to sushi station and had a very delicious dinner. Afterwards we went to Mitsuwa so Nichole could pick up some things for Jun and then we went to Baskin Robin's for icecream. Then we ( Read more... )

If you pay the ticket, you don't need to go to court. You only go to court if you want to fight the ticket. If you really want to go to court, you can call and ask them to change the date.

Wonderful! I am just going to pay then because I did make the mistake so no point in fighting it. Thanks.

If you write a note giving permission I don't see why it's be a problem, but I'll check with mi padre to be sure.

Yeah, I will probably try to pay the ticket and avoid court all together if I can, but if not I will most likely write a note then. I mean what else am I supposed to do.

My mom said you should go to court and see if you can be put on Court Supervision/Probation, so the ticket won't go on your record (thus raising our insurance rates).

It would work out perfectly because, being in China/Japan, you wouldn't even have to worry about getting a ticket while on court supervision.

that would be lovely and all but my court date isn't until after I leave so that might not work. I wish it was sometime in August instead.

When I got a ticket I ended up having to pay for the ticket (like your situation it was all my fault) and be on supervision. The other 'nice' thing I got to do was attend a four hour traffic school class instead of getting penalties on my license. If that's an option for you I would pursue it, but you probably won't be able to take the class because you're going to be in Asia.

Yeah, this happened at such an awkward time... studying abroad is making everything more complicated.

I would see if you could move it earlier. I'm sure if they knew you'd be out of the country, they'd be flexible.

Oh no! When I got a speeding ticket, I had to go to court... I don't remember a way out of it. And I also remember having to do the traffic school so that it wouldn't go on my record. The good thing about the traffic school, though, was that I was able to do it online for a small fee. So convenient!

Online you say? I wonder if that would be the best; my dad told me a lot options and he thinks I should just pay the ticket and get my license back, but if there is a way to not get it on my record...

The only thing with the online "classes" was that I signed up for them when I was at the courthouse...

Oh, well then that won't work.

When I got a speeding ticket, there was an option to pay more and go to a class that would erase the ticket from my record. I didn't have to go to court. BUT! They didn't let me pick my date, but I can't remember if they gave a before/after date selection. IF you choose the class, and you get a time you can't do, you can call and have them change the class, however I don't know how long you can put it off. I was actually ticketed for speeding, but speeding and running a red light are both moving violations, and I know there were people in the class for running a red light/stop sign, because the instructor pointed out that 80% of the class was there for speeding. XD

My advice would be to call the police station and ask them your questions though, they have desk jockeys just for this XD

Yeah, that sounds like a good idea. They know for sure what I can/can't do. Thanks!! You have been very helpful. ^_^
