alright, take your base, mmh. here's mine:
(cap by _iconsbyslipper)

prett dark, right? yeah. well, I had to duplicate the base six times, the first five layers all on screen, then the top one on soft light.

we can see his wounds now! oh yay. so now. you take a tannish colour and set it on colour burn. now take this gradient and set it to colour burn, as well. (since it sort of darkened the whole thing, I duplicated the base and set it to screen at 40% below the colour burn layers.)

MERGE! now I go to image >> duplicate and duplicate the whole image onto a whole new workspace. then I resize it to 80x80 and select about 2/3 of the duplicate and pasted it on the base.

(with the selection, you know.) >>

alright. now use this texture (by I don't know. I'm sorry, I have it marked by tre, but I know that's wrong. it doesn't look anything like their work. so if you know, please tell me and I'll give them the proper credit.) and erase some of the black and white on the right and set it on screen. (I rotated mine to go with the icon.) and after that, type whatever you want. I typed 'rumble' in noodlescript and added a 3 px stroke.
