Ouch! Oh that nearly had tears in my eyes because I could jut feel Robin's frustration there, and Marian's. Really nicely done.

Oh, good - I was wondering if I had expressed his frustration and loss well enough (considering this was written in about fifteen minutes and rather hastily posted).

Thanks for reading and reviewing!

I like how they begin in typical Robin/Marian fashion, bickering about knocking and entering through a window! But then right away it changes.

I can just see this happening: "Her eyes narrowed, then rolled, and a silence lingered between them, during which her face softened and she looked at him with something like sympathy, and he felt something twist inside of him. And he began to pace."

And from this point on it feels like they both know the conclusion of their conversation, but they have to speak the words anyway. Robin has to offer her his protection, Marian has to tell him she's doing what she must. But I feel like they both know there's only one outcome. Very sad!

Wow, great story. I especially like Marian's line that they must accept her marriage "because that is what people do," trying to get Robin to see the positive side as she is trying so bravely to do. Also, that she tries to tell him she doesn't need rescuing. She is a strong woman and she has chosen her path.

You expressed very well the heartbreak of this situation and the characters' struggle to deal with it. And looks like you met your goal of contributing to all eleven communities, well done!!
