First, announcement stuff:

how does Netflix work exactly... i get extremely lost.

It's basically a subscription type thing...we pay @ $18 per month and we can borrow/rent three DVDs at a time. (There are cheaper rates, but less DVDs.) I can watch as many as I can possibly fit into my schedule in that month, but I can only have three at any one time for my $18.

We go online and choose what we want to watch and put them in our queue.

So right now, I have three DVDs at home--I watch one, put it in the mail back to Netflix. When they get it, they check the queue and send me whatever's next. And so on...

They also have certain things you can watch instantly over the Internet through their site on a PC, or if you have an X-box live account, you can watch stuff through there on your TV set.

Any clearer?
