Every day after the kids go home these past couple of weeks, I've been teaching my friend, Yesenia, a little sign language, since she wanted to be able to communicate with our deaf kids better. I'd be very interested in a mini sign language class. I think that, perhaps, you should keep the videos on the journal at first just to give you time to work out the kinks and get comfortable with the process.

Love the idea, but since we use Auslan at home, it obviously wouldn't be much use for me.; You shuld totally do it though!

Yeah, I totally want to learn AUSLAN. Maybe one day when I go to visit you, I can buy a book and teach myself a little, like I did with Mexican Sign Language. I know enough of that to carry on a conversation now.

I love this idea! I think for now you should just keep it in your journal - mainly because I'm more likely to miss it if you do a community lol, (I sort my friends page and SCPP is usually the first thing I look at, communites are last and get missed some days because I'm too busy) but as someone else suggested, perhaps you could build up to that, that would be cool.

It wouldn't let me put enough in the comments... I'd love some stuff I could teach the kids in my class... basics like "Hi, my name is..." or "how are you today..." etc... things they could use and practice.

Some signs that would help with management would be cool too... I already taught them "toilet" (I do know a little ASL because my mom's neighbour is deaf) so they can ask to go to the bathroom without interrupting - of course they forget but I keep trying! LOL I'd love some more things like that. Silent signals between Teacher and students.

Really anything you teach us will be useful and cool I'm sure. What a great idea Robin. Thanks
