I'm giving over my lj for a time to a project designed to get something out of my system.

My plan is to deal out, in no particular order, my thoughts about small science fiction conventions, and the running thereof, based on my experiences with Perth's Swancon.

Yep.

In theory, day managers were supposed to take over the responsibility for keeping the con running, enabling the concom to enjoy the con they'd created for their own enjoyment. Not sure that ever worked in practice... or that it's even a great idea for a concom to concentrate on getting what they want in terms of guests, program, venue, etc., rather than what the other attendees will want (not that determining that is easy: I know, I've tried).
