Life lists

Do you ever write up a list of what you have managed to accomplish in a day?*  I mean the exact opposite of the loud, scolding, overbearing list of things you’re supposed to get done.  Achievement lists are one of those life strategy things, useful in a number of contexts:  when you’re so low you don’t want to do anything and are only going ( Read more... )

I do the exact same thing with lists. My lists for this year are the vast majority of my LJ updates because it keeps everyone apprised of what I'm doing as well as giving me something to look at when I feel like a lazy cow.

Lists are marvelous. As is two ply toilet paper. Don't squeeze the Charmin!

My journal is mostly lists of the usefuls I slayed that day.

If nothing else, there is a certain small satisfaction in knowing that I've crossed a few of the things off, even if most of them get carried over to next day.

Besides, I have a pretty turquoise leather journal cover with a Moon Goddess, and I made a bookmark to go with it, and playing with those always makes me feel good.

Toilet paper is one of the necessaries of life. I buy too much of it because I'm afraid of running out, and with three females in the house (not counting cats), that'd be a disaster of biblical proportions.

Hugs for your frustrating day, and I hope tomorrow is much better.

Oh, lord. This is how I get through the day. :) I think I may have mentioned that one of the ways I deal with depression is by keeping track of my daily accomplishments in an accounts ledger. I'm even allowed to count things like "ate lunch" (which I always do) because I want a reminder that there is no such thing as a day where I really didn't do ANYTHING. And if anyone ever saw this ledger they'd think I was stark raving bonkers...

it doesn’t own me, today I’ve . . . I’ve . . . I’ve written this list.

LOL! I often add "made list" to my list.

Piles of paper on the kitchen table are the bane of my existence. Mostly because they're all so *necessary* and can't be put away because they need to be dealt with *now*... but then you put it off. And then something necessary gets lost...

I feel your pain...

Don't feel silly about someone wanting to hear your music. Niall sounds like a marvelous person who won't laugh at you, and will only say nice things. That's always good for the heart(: In fact, share it with more people even if it feels scary! You'll be surprised at how brave other people will think you are... I envy you that you have found a piano teacher who laughs and makes things fun. That makes all the difference.
(the music enabler hath spoken:)

And actually, now that I think about it, I use LJ as my lifelist. I put things up there that I've done, want to do, feel good about, etc. That's probably why I went private with it. That, and when I'm being a whiny wench I don't want everyone and their dog to know about it.

******** that is SO TRUE. I **completely** lucked into this guy. I had a series of recommendations from various people and he's just the first one I tried. He's been the perfect teacher since the beginning and now with this composing thing--!

Make lists of what I've accomplished? Why had I never thought of this before now? To-do lists I've done now and then, but have-done lists... I'm gonna have to do that. :D
