Tired of the television, he watches the dim light flicker out into oblivion. He looks for the light switch; its too dark. Always never enough lights on in the spacious house. i like this a lot danny. i think it expresses very well how frighteningly easy it is to become addicted to the internet. and how lonely and isolated technology can make us feel.
especially:
"Meaningless numbers, meaningless people fill the screen."
and
"The incessant beats fill his head, so full of things he has already heard before."
and this makes me sad: "Nothing is as joyous a moment as when he finds himself with new mail. A connection, something new. They run so few." how happy new email can make us. how we even start to rely on the internet for happiness.

what do the ladybugs represent?

i feel the same way.
i constantly check for the same person to sign on, just so he'll say hello to me.
when he does i am filled with pleasure and joy and
when he doesn't i am amfilled with resentment

its pathetic
