The ayahuasca that Paul Theroux scored is basically the same thing as the oasca tea that members of the O Centro Espirita Beneficiente Uniao do Vegetal in New Mexico use as a sacrament. The US Supreme Court is fitting to rule whether the "vegetalistas" have a constitutional right to use their sacrament or whether US drug policy trumps them. Currently, the courts are on the vegetalistas' side.
