My own abandoned idea, put forth in hopes someone with the requisite skill and talent can take it up:

An adaptation of Romeo and Juliet set in Jerusalem. A little more serious than West Bank Story.

Sometimes ideas appear to expire only to be revived by later events. I had an idea that I thought was stale after the end of the Reagan administration only to see it revive after Sep't 11th.

At this point, I would be interested in watching a movie or reading a book set in the same world as Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, with different characters and relationship dynamics but the same science-fiction premise. I would find it unfortunate if that were the only story that could be told with that core idea without plagiarism actually occurring.

Heh, this was the exact premise of an Unknown Armies game I played at GenCon two years ago. Though in that case, the company would hold on to the memories for you for various reasons.
