no matter how crazy things are there now, it's nothing compared with the RA's Summer Show, which is a throwback to 18th century excess.
If you're interested at all in Gilbert Scott architecture, I recommend a visit to the Tate Modern, in Bankside Power Station. The shows are highly variable but the building's fantastic, especially if you mentally delete the extra storey of glass they stuck on top during the conversion. Also, if you get half a chance, the Sir John Soane museum in the Inns of Court is a tiny jewel.
