Just sooner, that's all. And ergo, no crazed Christmas shopping the next day.

Canadian Thanksgiving Edition

Congested highways to Barrie and Orillia on Thanksgiving weekend
Solution: Helicopter

SF Solution: A Flying Car would way cooler.

Pumpkin rustling
It exists! A farmer in Southern Ontario had $70,000 worth of pumpkins trucked away in the night.
Solution: GPS pumpkin tracking technology

SF Solution: Replace watchdogs with Micro-Raptors.

Straightforward yet mysteriously intractable computer problem that’s kept my brother off-line for months
Solution: Send qualified onsite technician from Toronto, authorized to buy whatever is needed.

SF Solution: Replace computer with AI robot (preferably #6 from BSG).

Mother-in-law’s insistence on storing cakes in the freezer
Solution: Commission scientific study to prove that this sucks all the moisture out of them and they should really spend the day between baking and eating in an airtight container at room temperature.

SF Solution: Even science fiction has no solution to this one... ;-)

I have an aunt who does that cake freezing thing and it drives everyone (especially my mom and my other aunts) nuts. It completely dries out an otherwise fine cake.

How do you keep a bit of wedding cake safely for a year so you can serve it at the first anniversary?

(Which is entirely different from a half-day between baking and eating).
