They're Feeding Them To The Forces Of Control Earlier and Earlier These Days

Standing in line at the passport office. The woman behind me is getting a passport for her six-year-old. She reminds him of a homework assignment he has to do by Monday. It's about advertising.

craziness, marketing

well, isn't advertising the most important thing to be informed and aware about?

The forces of control start an awful lot earlier than that: I've been able to watch my kid acquire needs from the television since about age 2. The kid that does homework on advertising is being prepared to play the game, not just eat the burgers (or whatever. That didn't come out quite as coherently as I was hoping).

What is the name of this game that requires burgers to play, and where can I buy it?

That's sort of horrific.

It's not that 90s paranoia is out of date. It's that it's fact.
